Psyllium is a plant also known as plantain (Plantago Ovata) or blond psyllium.
Psyllium is an annual herb that produces tiny seeds. These are covered with an envelope or integument which is recovered and valued.
Psyllium is very rich in mucilage, a plant substance made up of soluble fibers that swell on contact with liquid. This property promotes intestinal transit and plays on the effect of satiety.

By its nature, psyllium thickens on contact with water. To obtain a smooth and fluid texture, it is advisable to dilute 1 teaspoon of psyllium in 200 ml of liquid; the equivalent of a large glass of water, fruit juice or a bowl of soup. It is recommended
also to distribute the catch well over the day (2 to 3 times a day).
In the case of greater transit difficulties or as part of a diet, it is possible to increase the number of catches during the day. Be sure to always consume with a sufficient amount of liquid. Avoid a too thickened consistency, more difficult to ingest.
